Host your own Church Micro Cito

New for 2019 are Church Cito’s. As with any church micro cache or event they will count towards your CM finds total.

The Cito is to be held within the church grounds but can be to do whatever is needed to tidy/repair as per any normal CITO.

Naturally you will need permission and it must comply to HQ CITO Guidelines. If you’re not sure look here.

You do not need to submit a request for your Event, but it must be worded in this EXACT format or it may not be included in the statistics.

Church Cito NNN...Church name
E.g. Church Cito 001…St John the Baptist

It does not need to include the town name or CM number

NNN can be determined from the below table but simplistically it started at 001 and increments by 1 for each new CITO season as defined by Geocaching HQ. Currently they have two CITO seasons during the year and for a CITO event taking place in these seasons you earn a souvenir.

Year Season Number Dates
2019 1 N/A 01 March to 31 May
2 001 01 September to 30 November
2020 1 002 01 March to 31 August
2 Covid 01 September to 31 December
2021 1 Covid 01 March to 31 August
2 003 01 September to 30 November
2022 1 004 01 March to 31 May
2 005 01 September to 30 November
2023 1 006 01 March to 31 May
2 007 01 September to 30 November
2024 1 008 01 March to 31 May
2 009 01 September to 30 November

There have been a small number of anomalies and the system will tolerate small variations from the above standard. If you insist on having an event outside the official seasons, then for the first half of the year use the number applicable to season 1 and if in the second half of the year use the number for season 2. Remember, if you are outside both seasons you do not earn a souvenir.

You may also get away with adding additional text on to the end of the event name. E.g. "Church Cito 008…Lesnes Abbey (#02 - Litter Pick)".

However, if you do not follow the official standard, it is your responsibility to check that the event gets added to the CM database that the statisics are generated from. You just need to check that Andy33 has added the event to an official CM bookmark list. He he hasn't, then contact him direct to rectify but be aware that at best it can take more than a week for him to pick up a new event and that he does go on holiday from time to time. Also note that he may ask you to change a non-conforming name.
